Spinning Cycle-a-Thon Nov. 22
The American Diabetes Association and the Sports Barn will host an indoor spinning Cycle-a-thon to raise funds for the ADA on Sat., Nov. 22, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the downtown Chattanooga Sports Barn. Cyclists are invited to register to spin for 30 minutes and raise pledges towards a $10,000 fundraising goal. Spinners who raise a minimum of $150 will receive a free 2009 Tour de Cure entry. ~Thanksgiving Dinner at Fall Creek Falls Nov. 27
Go for a hike then pig out. Fall Creek Falls State Park in Pikeville, TN will join several other Tennessee State Parks in offering a traditional Thanksgiving Dinner Buffet at the Inn from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 27. Cost for the buffet is $14.95 for adults, half price for children ages 6-12, and free for kids aged five and under. Senior citizens ages 62 and older receive a 10% discount. ~Turkey Trot Nov. 27
Work up an appetite for Thanksgiving dinner at the annual Sports-Barn Turkey Trot on Thurs., Nov. 27, beginning at 8:30 a.m., at the Sports Barn East on Lee Highway. The fundraising event features an 8K run, Fun Run, Kiddie K, and 3-mile dog-friendly walk. (Dogs participating in the walk will receive a special goody bag.) Pre-registration or day-of registration options are available. All proceeds go toward the Kidney Foundation of the Greater Chattanooga Area.
~Belch’n Turkey VI “Smashed Potatoes” Disc Golf Tournament Nov. 28-30
The sixth annual Belch'n Turkey "Smashed Potatoes" Disc Golf tournament will take place Fri. - Sun., Nov. 28 - 30 at the TVA Chickamauga Recreation Area and Sinks disc golf courses. A Professional Disc Golf Association-sanctioned event, the tournament will offer competition categories for professional and recreational disc golfers.
